Fendy Zakri is a minimal artist who balances faith and spirituality in his works. Nature has been a subject for artists throughout the ages, to express themselves and it is the impetus of Fendy’s work. The landscape genre investigates painting’s ability to record the authenticity of the real world and to communicate the artist’s experiences in nature—the emotions, feelings, thoughts, and concepts that artists delve upon to create their work. In Fendy’s case, these elements are influenced by the beauty and power of nature and paradoxically, its evanescence.
In his career as an artist, Fendy has received notable awards including Incentive Award, Mekar Citra Gallery, Shah Alam in 2012, and was a Finalist for MEAA (Malaysian Emerging Artist Award), Kuala Lumpur in 2011. In 2019, he had his successful solo exhibition titled “Moonlight Fragment” in TAKSU Kuala Lumpur.
